I am fairly confident that this pun (or some similar variation on the line "...suffered under Pontius Pilate") has appeared in a cartoon in a Christianity-based periodical. Possibly more than one. It has just the right combination of in-jokiness and wanness, plus a little of that "perplexed by modern culture" approach for good measure.
Molls, that *should not prevent you* from offering your own joke!
Mine (jumping off Quailty's) might be -- "You mean the really intense one?" "Yeah, the one where they really crucify you." "Oh I think it's called Pontius Pilates or something."
Wow, that was more like a short story. Please help!

"What's the name of that great aerobics class they hold in the church basement on Tuesdays?"
