Introductory matters

Coming out today: New York Review Books Classics' edition of Russell Hoban's beautiful 1975 novel TURTLE DIARY, with an introduction by yours truly...*

And then—coming next Tuesday (6/18): The Criterion Collection edition of Harold Lloyd's SAFETY LAST!, featuring an "essay by critic Ed Park" (a/k/a me!)

Thank you to my editors, Sara Kramer and Liz Helfgott, respectively! It's truly a thrill and an honor for me to have contributed to two series I dig so much (and on two works of art that mean a lot to me).

*very cool to see an ad in the New York Review of Books for this one.

It is what it is (I)

"I'm not getting into it," [Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Duncan Keith] said. "It's over with now. We've had a hearing. I've said my piece. I said the same thing last night. It was an accident. I didn't mean to get him where I got him. It is what it is, though." —ESPN
